After two weeks of eating better, and the occasional walk, we have lost a combined total of 13 pounds. It was so easy! I know ... I hate when people says that it was 'easy' but that is because we are conditioned to think that losing weight is one of the most difficult things that a human can go through, unless you are a celebrity or a supermodel. Having been a person that formerly subscribed to that way of thinking, I can see how maddening it is to hear that.
Things are different today. We are different people today, and we are training ourselves for the rest of our lives. There will not be a "how we did it" book at the end of this journey, because we both truly believe that what works for one person will not work for another. We are not starving ourselves nor are we at the gym for hours each day. So, why was it easy? Because we are committed to feeling good. We are utilizing our knowledge of nutrition and listening to our bodies. This is an evolving thing and I know what works today will be different tomorrow. The last thing I want is to be in a routine and have a strict list of do's and don't. That is no way to live.
There will still be challenges because there always are, that is life. What we are preparing for though is to have balance and wisdom and to always put ourselves first and always follow the path of joy.
Let's see what the next 2 weeks will bring!
